Groupon’s pioneering social commerce platform is one of the largest Rails applications in the world. We have openings for expert, energetic Ruby/Rails pros to join Groupon’s Silicon Valley or downtown Chicago R&D centers.

Successful candidates will have:

• B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Solid understanding of Computer Science and Web foundations
• Four years experience developing web applications (in any language)
• At least one year experience in Ruby/Rails web development
• Solid understanding of SQL database programming and performance implications
• Positive communication skills (making good design decisions and helping spread great ideas)
• Strong *NIX development skills
• Profiling and tuning experience desired
• Previous startup experience desired
