The discipline of software testing began in the early sixties when eager QA testers would inject faults by plunging an ice pick through stacks of punch cards. Today’s Groupon QA team members use more modern tools and they still get great fulfillment from breaking things.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain automated tests that cover end-to-end scenarios using technologies such as RSpec, Selenium, BrowserMob, SauceLabs, JMeter, and curl.
• Continually refine your tests because you’re never satisfied that you’ve covered enough.
• Ensure new engineering projects are testable by working closely with the developers.
• Develop reporting tools and test metrics.
• Triage defects and determine root cause analysis for severe issues.
• Address multiple testing concerns such as functionality, performance, security, accessibility, and localization.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Excellent coding skills in scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
• Deep knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Successful as a member of a dynamic development team.
